Six categories, 42 keysSuites and residences
Every floorplan in the building is different, because in 1938 nobody was designing a hotel. Choose by what you need — the avenue or the quiet, three nights or three months.

Courtyard Suite
Eleven of these face the interior garden on floors one to four. No traffic reaches them; the loudest thing you will hear is the lift. They are the smallest rooms we let, and the ones our own staff book for their families.
A king bed, a seating corner with two José Espírito Santo armchairs, and a bathroom in cream Estremoz marble with a walk-in shower. Two of them are step-free with roll-in showers and grab rails.
- King bed or twin on request
- Desk with two power blocks and USB-C
- Nespresso, kettle and a stocked minibar
- Walk-in shower, no bath

Avenida Suite
The front of the house, on floors two to five, with three tall windows onto the jacarandas of Avenida da Liberdade. In late May the trees flower purple and these rooms sell out a year ahead.
The glazing is triple and tested at 42 dB with the avenue at full evening traffic. Original parquet, a walnut writing desk under the middle window, and a soaking tub set beside its own window in the bathroom.
- King bed, Hastens mattress
- Soaking tub and separate rain shower
- Walnut desk and reading chair
- Blackout and sheer curtains on all three windows

Deco Corner Suite
Four corner rooms, one per floor, where the building turns onto Rua Rosa Araújo. The curve of the facade gives them a bay of five windows and light from two directions from about ten in the morning.
Each keeps its original 1938 fireplace in black marble — decorative now, with the flue capped — and the stepped plaster cornice that the restorers spent a winter recasting. The dressing area sits behind a fluted glass screen.
- King bed and a full dressing area
- Original fireplace and restored cornice
- Bath and rain shower
- Sofa that converts for a third guest

Garden Residence
Two ground-floor residences opening onto a walled patio with a lemon tree and a table for four. A separate bedroom, a proper kitchen, and a door to the garden that means you can eat outside without leaving the building.
Let by the night, but designed for the week. Guests who stay a month tend to end up here or on the top floor.
- Separate bedroom and living room
- Full kitchen: induction hob, Miele oven, dishwasher
- Washer-dryer in the utility cupboard
- Private patio, 14 m²

Terrace Residence
Three on the sixth floor, each with a private terrace of 20 to 26 square metres facing east towards São Jorge castle. The sun arrives on the terrace at breakfast and leaves it around four, which is exactly right in August.
Inside: a separate bedroom, a living room with a dining table for six, and the same kitchen as the Garden Residences. Sun loungers, a parasol and a gas grill come with the terrace.
- Private terrace with castle view
- Dining for six, indoors and out
- Full kitchen and washer-dryer
- Weekly clean included on stays over seven nights

Penthouse Residence
The old caretaker's floor, rebuilt into one apartment under the barrel vault at the top of the stair. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a terrace that wraps two sides of the building with the river at the far end of the view.
It takes four adults comfortably, or two who want a piano in the living room — there is one, a 1962 Schimmel upright, tuned twice a year.
- Two bedrooms, two bathrooms
- Wrap-around terrace, 40 m²
- Kitchen with wine fridge and grill
- Daily housekeeping included
